I make bean-less zines pretty regularly but I rarely post them here. Should I start? Let’s try it.

This zine has instructions for making the herbal pain-relief salve I use for endometriosis and ovarian cyst pain, and that I have been sharing with friends and fam since December. It provides strong and immediate but not very long-lasting pain relief for when you need a break. Salve testers found strong relief from pain due to: frozen shoulder, tendonitis, headaches, arthritis, and more. It’s strong!

If you try it out, I would love to hear how it works or doesn’t for you. (Beep me on Mastodon?) If you’re in pain, I hope it eases one way or another <3

P.S., if you want to try this out before committing to the multi-week process of making a salve from scratch, I should mention that a tincture works too. More people have those around, or an herb shop might have a sample of hops tincture and let you try a drop or two to see what it does for you. The blend is stronger, but hops is the main player. If you know me in person, just ask and I will give you some salve.

Bean Zine #8: oops, all soups

It’s that time again! This issue of Bean Zine has 4 recipes (all soups), 2 dreams (all soup-related), and 2 postcards (unrelated to soup, which I now realize was a missed opportunity).

Remember beans? They’re still delicious. I’m kicking off a new set of zines in the same old format: 3 recipes, 2 dreams, and 2 postcards. If you know me in real life, let me know if you want a paper copy. If you are anyone at all, print a copy for free:

Bean Zine special feature: printable postcards

I’m sure you’ve all been wishing for a beautiful future where you can print unlimited bean-themed postcards for your personal use and/or to write to your elected representatives (no stamp required). The future is now, obviously. Each file is a moderately hi-res PDF containing one sheet of four different postcards.

Bean Zine #6, the final issue and also the one with a split pea on it, contains 3 bean recipes, 2 bean dreams, and 2 bean postcards. Print your own with this PDF. (No postcards in the PDF.)

Bean Zine: bookfair, six-packs, and oblivion

The Year of Bean Zine is coming to an end. Issue 6 will be the last one (for now).

To celebrate this occasion, I’ll be selling bean zines at the Victoria Anarchist Bookfair in September. This is your chance to pick up individual issues or six-packs of the entire run, plus some bean pins and loose postcards. Maybe bean zines make good gifts? I’ve had pretty good results mailing them to all my friends.
